Our primary goal is to devise a strategy to transfer your hard earned assets according to your wishes. We work with individuals, families and businesses that require transfer tax planning. We aim to help implement your goals but will provide guidance on tax reduction strategies along the way. This includes the preparation of wills, health care proxies, living wills and powers of attorney. When appropriate we also utilize LLCs to help transition assets to the next generation. We have significant experience helping families throughout the Adirondacks and Lake George area ensure that their family cottages and camps will pass to the next generation. We also prepare revocable and irrevocable lifetime trusts and testamentary trusts of various degrees of complexity.
When disputes arise within estates and trusts, our experienced trial attorneys have experience challenging and defending estate and trust fiduciaries, and advocating on behalf of estate and trust beneficiaries. Our experience includes will contests, estate discovery proceedings, and contested accountings.
Estate and Trust Administration
Our attorneys advise executors, personal representatives and estate administrators through each step of the estate administration, probate and Surrogate Court process. This includes the proper distribution of the estate and trust assets. We prepare all required documents to ensure that our clients are properly discharged from their positions. We have experience with the court process and regularly practice in multiple counties throughout New York and Florida. Guardianships. Our attorneys also help families through the court process when it becomes necessary to appoint a lifetime guardian to help protect the interests of a loved one.

As part of our comprehensive estate planning services, we help clients plan for their future health care needs by drafting living wills and health care proxies or evaluate options for funding long term care. We also understand that the high cost of nursing homes may force our clients to deplete their life savings. Our attorneys also regularly assist clients with developing plans to protect their assets as part of our Medicaid planning and application process.
