Mariah W. Colavito is an associate attorney at McPhillips, Fitzgerald & Cullum LLP, focusing on civil litigation. Her areas of practice include medical malpractice defense, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and slip and fall matters, workers’ compensation, labor and employment matters, estate and trust litigation, contract disputes and other areas of civil litigation.


Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Colavito represented healthcare professionals and medical facilities in the defense of medical malpractice claims. Her prior experience also includes defending clients in personal injury, automobile accident, wrongful death, labor and employment, and other civil litigation matters. Ms. Colavito previously served as Assistant Counsel to the New York State Office of Mental Health and began her legal career representing employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation matters throughout New York State. Her experience includes handling matters through various stages of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, trials, settlement, and appeals.


Ms. Colavito earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Finance from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.


Community service and pro bono advocacy have remained an important part of Ms. Colavito's legal career. She has volunteered with The Legal Project and the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, assisting individuals and families with matters including asylum and VAWA applications, uncontested divorces, adult name changes, wills, and advance directives. Having recently made the Glens Falls area her home, Ms. Colavito looks forward to becoming involved in the local community and continuing her commitment to service throughout the region.
